Since 2019 Sam and a small team have been working with people in their 20s - 40s and their children in our local community. The work has focused on Coulby Newham, but also connected with families in Easterside, Marton and beyond…
The Story So Far
We delivered ‘Church in a Bag’ to families around Coulby Newham throughout 2020 and early 2021 after Covid postponed our launch. Each week’s bag was based on a bible story, with games, craft materials and suggestions for prayer and reflection activities.
In March 2021 Church in a Bag became Church in a Building.
Church in a Building
Join us on Sunday afternoons for Church in a Building. We’re meeting in person at St Cuthbert’s Marton Parish Centre at 4pm. The services are informal and interactive and are aimed at families.
Each week is based on a story from the bible. We have a craft, an active game, and lots more fun. Scroll through the photos below or have a look at our Facebook or Instagram to see what we’ve been up to recently. You’d be really welcome to come and visit us, we’d love to meet you in person!

Mini Meet-up
Join us for our toddler group in Coulby Newham every Monday morning. We enjoy the toys and slide, with plenty of hot drinks for the adults. After snack time for the kids, we have song time, and finish with a short bible story and prayer time.
Where: The Beacon Centre, Langdon Square, Coulby Newham, TS8 0TF
When: Mondays (term-time), 9.30-11am

Multiply
St Cuthberts in Coulby Newham is part of Multiply, a network of people working across the region to start new Christian communities for families and young adults. There are 14 full-time Pioneer Ministers, and a growing team of part-time ministers, working to share the hope and love of Jesus with more people. Other local sites include Brambles Farm, North Ormesby and Ingleby Barwick.
Multiply is a project of the Diocese of York.
